Detailed Description:   

Only edition of this comprehensive commentary on Bircei Nafshei and fifteen Shir ha-Ma’alot (Psalms, 104, 120-34) by R. Moses ben Israel, dayyan in Ṿirtsburg. The title-page informs that it is entitled Bet Avot as R. Moses ben Israel’s primary work in on Pirke Avot as can be seen from the introduction. It cautions the buyer to not be concerned with his money and acquire this new book as there has not been such a work as this and he will merit going up to Jerusalem and seeing the building of the Bet Ha-Middash. The title-page is dated with the verse “So Mosesמשה את  declared to אל the Israelites the set times of the LORD (472 = 1712).” Thee is an introduction and then the text two columns. The inner column is the text of Psalms the considerably larger outer column is the detailed and comprehensive commentary. An attractive and thorough explanation of popular verses from Psalms.
