Description

Physical Description:

59 ff. quarto 240:190 mm., wide margins, light age staining, blue tint paper. A good copy not bound.

Detailed Description:

Hasidic derashot on the weekly Torah readings by R. Solomon ben Abraham Lutsker (d. 1813). The title page describes Divrat Shelomoh as a wondrous work on the Torah, discourses wonderful, “sweeter than honey” (cf. Psalms 19:11) “altogether lovely” (Song of Songs 5:16), novellae, allusions, and deep esoterica. It states that every reader will find something in it to satiate his thirst. Divrat Shelomoh is so entitled because the initial letters of Divrat דברת spell out ת Talmud of ר Rabbenu ד Dov ב Ber. There is an approbation from R. Jacob Isaac ben Abraham ha-Levi Horowitz of Lublin on the verso of the title page. The text follow immediately afterwards. Divrat Shelomoh is printed on colored paper, a light green. The text is in two columns, the first and last parts of the book in rabbinic type, the middle in square letters.
