Only edition of this commentary on the first part of parashat Bereshit on Bereshit Rabbah by R. Moses Solomon Zalman ha-Levi. The brief text of the title page states that it is according to the order of the sages on Bereshit Rabbah and that it explains the order of the work of creation of the world and man.  There are approbations from R. Joshua Friedensohn, R. Isaac Meir Alter, R. Joshua Heschel Ashkenazi, and R. Dovberush Meisels. There are two title pages and between them the author’s introduction. The text is divided into battim (houses), each subdivide into hadarim (rooms). The first bayyit begins with “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth” (Genesis 1:1) and is divided into twenty-four hedarim. The second bayyit is on the following verse “And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And a wind from God moved upon the face of the waters” (ibid 1:2). Bayyit eleven the final bayyi, with seven hadorim, concludes with “And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it; because that in it He had rested from all his work which God created and made” (Genesis 2:3). Rehovot Ir thus covers the entire work of creation. A second smaller volume, in terms of the order of the text, was actually printed earlier (Warsaw, 1853)
