Detail Description

Only edition of this comprehensive commentary on Shulhan Arukh Yoreh De’ah on hilkhot melihah by R. Solomon ben Israel Moses. The title-page informs that Zikharon Shelomoh is in four parts: 1) to clarify the positions and assemble halakhic novellae from seforim from rishonim (early authorities) and aharonim (later authorities); 2) to add halakhic material on ssues not fully clarified in the work of ahronim in the matter of she’elot and teshuvot; 3) to explain the words of the Shulhan Arukh, the Taz, Shah, and Peri Magadim that are not entirely clear; and 4) the commentary Zur Yisrael to resolve matters in a clear manner. There are approbations from R. Mordecai Lev Winkler, R. Solomon Eliezer Halberstam, R. Naphtali Teitelbaum, R. Joel Teitelbaum, R. Yitzhak Eisak, R. Akiva Sofer, R. Saul Brauch  of Nitra’ R. Saul Rosenberg, and R. Menahem Brody. Next is R. . Solomon ben Israel Moses’ introduction, a listing of the responsa in the book, errata, and then the text. Within Zikharon Shelomoh the text of the Shulhan Arukh is in the center of the page in square unvocalized letters, with the detailed commentary about it in rabbinic letters. At intervals the text is followed by Zur Yisrael. Detaile dosurce references. At the end of Zikharon Shelomoh is a lengthy list of the individuals who supported publication. Zikharon Shelomoh is an unusually detailed and thorough work on an important and complex subject.
