Only edition of this commentary on Avot by R. Solomon Zalman Hirschman, av bet din of Neustadt Sugendat. The title-page describes Bet Avot as the house that stands as talpiot (turrets) that the avot, our holy rabbis, established. Bet Avot was brought to press by R. Samuel Isaac Hirschman, the author’s son. There are approbations from prominent rabbis, R. Isaac Elchanan ben Israel Isser Spector, R. Israel Hildesheimer, R. Shimon ha-Levi Ish Horowitz, R. Eliezer ben Zevi Abraham Lev, and R. Eliakim Gotshalk Schlesinger followed by the introductions R. S. J. Hirschman, a son of the author, in which, inter alia, he discusses his families’ genealogy; that of R. Samuel Isaac Hirschman, and lastly that of the author. Next is a section entitled Roshei Avot with elucidating notes entitled Avnei Millu’im, followed by the text of the commentary entitled Even Shelomo, this too with Avnei Millu’im at the bottom of the page. Bet Avot concludes with Hiddushei Shelomo and Hiddushei Aggadot. This is a pristine copy, many of the pages intonso, that is, uncut, untrimmed.
