Small format book in Ladino in Rashi letters recounting a story of a beautiful women, Esther, and what happened to her in Pinsk in 1663. The story first appeared in German and was translated by the publisher. The place of publication and exact date were concealed due to concern for the censor. The text was translated by Alexander ben Ephraim Ben Ghiyyat. It was first made known in the newspaper El Misirit in 1906 and then published by Sysh in Ladino. The particulars of this somewhat mysterious book’s publication are known from the verso of the title-page which lists a number of books available from the Jerusalem publisher Solomon Israel Shirizli with their prices.
