Detailed Description:

Bigdei Kehunnah ("Priestly Garments"), contains 65 responsa on various laws in all four parts of the Shulhan Arukh and novellae on the Talmudic tractates Gittin and Bava Mezia.

R. Meshullam Zalman b. Shlomo ha-Kohen (late 18th and early 19th century), rabbi of Fuerth, Bavaria, rabbinical decisor and scholar. R. Meshullam Zalman ha-Kohen was orphaned at age four and raised by his mother, Reb. Channah, and at age 13 he was sent to Breslau to study with his older bother, R. Abraham. From there he went to study at the Yeshiva of R. Jonathan Eibeschutz in Altona until his marriage. After marriage he established a yeshiva in Ravitz, then assumed the Rosh Yeshiva position at the famous yeshiva in Krotchyn, from there to Kempen, Poland, and in 1790 finally to the rabbinate of Fuerth, where he apparently served until his passing.

His other work, Nahalat Avot ("Heritage of our Fathers," Fuerth, 1811), his second work, was written when the author was 70 years old. Utilizing the form of the ethical will, the book was intended to educate both the Author's children and pupils. After an introduction in rhymed prose, the work comprises sermons on ethical subjects - both personal and social - the commandments, and devotion to G-d.
