Detail Description

Responsa by R. Yaakov Simcha Rehfisch (1804-1877) rabbi of Kempno He was born in Rawicz, Poland and studied with the dayyan of Lisa R. Eliezer Lipmann Ravitcher. After his marriage to a Kempno family he was appointed to the city's Bet Din where he served for over 50 years, eventually as Rabbi of Kempno. He established a yeshiva in the city and offered lectures therein. An erudite scholar he was often consulted on important rabbinic issues and wrote several books, which were published posthumously.
