Detail Description

Unusual work of prayer and Avodah based on the covenant between God and the patriarch Abraham by R. Aryeh Leib ben Jacob Shapira (Spiro). The title-page describes Berit Avraham as concerning the promise God made to Abraham at the time of the covenant, as it says “I have already fixed for them the order of the sacrifices. Whenever they will read the section dealing with them, I will reckon it as if they were bringing me an offering, and forgive all their inquities” (Megillah 31). R. Aryeh Leib has here, ordered it according to the Shelah ha-kodesh and after him the Ba’al Tevu’ot Shor. In Berit Avraham are wondrous segulot for merit for a good life and length of days, to be said with understanding. Included are commentaries be of benefit for selihot of iniquities or a healing for all needs, for hesed and reahamim, “so that your youth is renewed like the eagles” (Psalms 103:5). There is an introduction from the author, followed by the text, which is comprised of Seder Berit Avraham at the top of the page in vocalized Hebrew, and below in square unvocalized Hebrew Rashi and then Peerush.
