Novellae and responsa from R. Yeshayahu ben Israel Ezekiel Basan. Todat Shelamim is divided into two parts, each with its own title page but with continuous foliation. The first title page gives complete information, noting that part one is entitled Zivhe Todah and is novellae on the Ran (R. Nissim ben Reuben Gerondi, (1310–c.1375) on tractate Niddah, hassagot on Rabbenu Zerahyah [ben Isaac ha-Levi] on Sefer Ba’ale ha-Nefesh of the Rabad (R. Abraham ben David of Posquieres (c. 1125–1198), glosses on Sefer Ba’ale ha-Nefesh on tractate Niddah, and Hilkhot Niddah of the Ramban (Nahmanides, R. Moses ben Nahman, 1194–1270). The title page is dated “The Lord is near to all those who אשר (501=1741) call upon him, to all who call upon him in truth” (Psalms 145:18).The verso of the title page has a full page copy of the famed Foa device, consisting of a palm tree with a lion rampant on each side and affixed to the tree a Magen David within a cartouche, and about it the verse, “The righteous flourish like the palm tree” (Psalms 92:13). Next is a full page permission to print in Latin from the Inquisitor, permission to print from five Venetian rabbis representing the Va’ad Katan of Venice, and then approbations from several rabbis, including R. Basan’s brother-in-law. Next is an introduction from R. Israel Benjamin Basan, the author’s son, followed by the text in two columns in square unvocalized letters. There are several decorative tail-pieces, including one of a cherub between two cornucopias.

The title page of part two give the press as that of Bragadin, unlike the title page of the first part which says it was printed at the press of Isaac Foa, book seller, representing the business relationship and later partnership of the two firms. The fonts in both parts, however, are identical. Also, among the tail-pieces employed in this part is that of the cherub and cornucopias. The volume concludes with indexes.
