First edition. [4], 43, [1]; 49, [1] ff., quarto, 197:140 mm., light age and damp staining, nice margins, small loss in title and verso, bound in modern cloth over boards.

 

Detail Description

A twofold index to the Zohar, the first volume contains an index of subjects; the second an index of the Biblical passages quoted. Edited by R. Israel Berekhiah b. Joseph Jekuthiel Fontanella (c. 1680-1762), rabbi in Reggio, an eminent Talmudist and kabbalist with important entries to R. Isaac Lampronti's Paḥad Yiẓḥaḳ, and a member of a prominent Italian family of scholars. He passed on in Reggio Emilia and a eulogy in his honor is memorialized in the Mantua Community Archives.
